Ahhh, what have we here? How did you come to be lodged in the muck? No matter. It is a good thing we found you here… there are dangers about. You look at me oddly; is there something wrong? Are you from a local village? What is your name? A fine name, but one I am quite unfamiliar with. Truly unique. From where do you hail? Wait, wait, I do not know this nation you speak of. Quite a feat, for I have traveled the width and breadth of Aurorea. What do you mean? What is Aurorea? What an odd question; are you feeling alright? Here, let me help you up. There you go, wipe some of that mud from you. You look parched. Here take some of my water. Thirsty, ehh? Why do your eyes linger on my sword? You look shocked. Truly, if you frequent these areas, I’m surprised you don’t have one of your own. Come to think of it, those are very odd clothes that you are wearing. Have you no weapon to protect yourself? From what, you ask? Why, those dangers I mentioned, of course. But fear not, we won’t let you come to harm. Let me introduce you to my friends, they will be interested to see you up close. I made them stay back when I approached you, just in case. Here is Kailen, let not here appearance throw you, she is an accomplished sorcerer. Don’t mind Torin he… why do you recoil? Surely you have seen a dwarf before. But how… I see. You must be a new soul. I never thought I would meet one. Well, come along new soul, I suppose I’ll have to teach you a few things. My name is Kaid, and I suppose you could say I lead this group. We’ll chat as we walk. We need to keep moving lest those dangers… ahh, a fine example has presented itself. Be not afraid. Now stay behind me, stay sharp and listen, and you will survive this encounter. Trust me stranger, you’ll be safe with us. |

The Jetheriss... playable for the first time!
Per our Messenger conversation the other day, I have added an entry for the Jetheriss under the Races of the World. This race will be playable in our new Thursday game, and can be created in a Knight, or Trusted Servant position for your Celestran noble house. |
Aurorea: Cantrips & Clockwork
For those of you who will be playing in the one shot this weekend, please feel free to grab the State of the World setting document below. It's hastily scrawled, and a few pages have been lost due to work computer issues, but it should serve as a good introduction to the Aurorea of the "Gearwork Age". Consider it unfinished but "complete" as there is always more I could add. For character creation, here will be the process: You'll be able to pick from a few sets of pre-generated stats that you can plug in as you like, you'll then be able to select race and class (race entries can be found on this website). Characters will be level 4, but equivalent gold/special items for level will not be provided, just basic equipment. Backgrounds will be quickly generated as a loose framework through a roll system and then a you'll randomly select a card that will tell you how, in general terms, you got to where the game started. You can fill in anything else about your character's background as you wish through play. I will have multiple computers available with Hero Lab running to speed up character creation, but it will help if you have a general idea of class/feats/skills you wish to have. Each player will have 2 markers that they can use to make a simple declaration to affect the game. These should not be too specific. Something like "This shopkeep looks familiar to me" is good. This will allow you to flesh out your background in the world and it's people a little more as you play or make things more exciting/fun/interesting during the course of the game. |
World Map Coming Along
You'll find a world map has been posted on the "On the Continents and Nations" page. This is an early draft, and a lot more detail will be added in the near future, but it's a start. Also updated Deros on the Gods of Darkness page. I unfortunately lost my original file for the other dark gods, so I'll have to retype it soon. That'll teach me not to cloud backup something! You should start seeing more updates on here soon. -Daniel |
New Stuff and Failed Promises
So, it appears that I have once again failed to keep this page updated and expanding. I am, however, working on it. New section on the members of The Dreamers party on Thursday nights. Just started it, but there's a lot more coming. Happy to put up pages for the Exiles as well. Stay tuned. -Daniel |
Iraie Revealed!
Following up on my earlier promises, the entry for Iraie, goddess of risk and desperation, is up. While it is technically a little after midnight, I promise you guys that there will be another entry today. Later: prepare to meet Boraz, the god of ignorance! -Daniel |
Updates!
Been slacking... again... I apparently have too many hobbies and projects. Anyway, I'm going to try and rectify some of that this week by taking a few steps at a time. As such, I'll be introducing a new God entry a day to fill in the rest of the Gods of Darkness, as well as a full entry on Natarhn. Lothos has been filled in completely, and I will have a new entry up by the end of the day. You can expect a new god entry to be up every day until they're done. Also coming soon: a description of the calendar of Aurorea and information on those people who have been met on the Grand Avenue of Horadar. Also planning to finish up North Hold information, including entries on Heron, Raven, Royce, Swifter, and others. Expect an entry per day from now on! |
Calendar!
The game calendar should finally, finally be working properly. I have sent an alert to everyone (the second one if you received two) which will add the Aurorea Game Events calendar to your own Gmail calendar. The calendar is also viewable using the link on the navigation bar to the left. I promise to get some more game information up soon! Stay tuned for more details. Also, and this is cool, if anyone wants an "@aurorea.net" email address of your own, let me know and I'll get you set up. -Daniel |
Niros and Uniformity Updates
Took the time tonight to fill in the Niros entry under "Of Faith and Deities", as well as updating the uniformity of all pages to the same font and text size. I have also just formatted all racial properties sections under each race so that they are accurately displayed and (hopefully) easier to read. Please let me know if you see something that should be adjusted. -Daniel |
North Hold Nobility and the Draketouched
Posted some information on the people of North Hold, including the ruling members of the Draketouched (Zerul's family). More to come on this stuff soon. The people of Areoll will be posted before game tonight.

People and Places
Wow... I am really behind on updates for this site. I apologize to everyone who checks this place on a regular basis... all two of you. Still, I have toiled away to bring some much needed new content to the table. The continental map for Elesia, primary stomping ground for all the current gaming groups, has been posted in the "On the Continents and Nations" section. In addition, I have added the questing NPCs for both parties to the Companions section. Please note, I have begun to refer to the Heroes of Thursday's game as the Dreamers (you all probably know why), while the Sunday game is the Wanderers. These names are subject to change, and is only there to give me a short hand to refer to each group of characters. Now: I'm going to catch some shut eye, but I promise to be better about updating this site more often in the future. -Daniel |
