The Low Lord- Holy Symbol: An intricate, interwoven series of barbed circles.
Description: It is said that the High Lord and Low Lord are brothers, or perhaps sisters, who came to this material plane to create a world, one that might yield great and wondrous creatures for their enjoyment. To these beings, who revel in creation above all else, a world as lush as Aurorea was worth the risk of breaking from their previous realm. From the depths of the void they poured their energies, forming the world and shaping it for more than a thousand years. The residual magics of creation coalesced in a distinct band that can be seen around their world.
When it became clear that their newly created world required balance, these two gods knew that they must be in opposition. The Low Lord took the baleful position, ruling over all gods of darkness.
Though they accept no followers, it is common knowledge that all life spring from them and it is an unwise man who would curse either’s name.
Lothos- Holy Symbol: A stiletto pointing downwards with a drop of poison dewing at the tip. Domains: Animal, Chaos, Death, Evil, Madness, Repose, and Weather Favored Weapon: A stiletto Aliases: The Poisoner, The Still Lord, The Blight, Lord Pestilence, Sevraki, Qur Description: The dark god of poison and disease, Lothos revels in the act of killing with pain. One of the gods of the second echelon, Lothos was quick to stake claim to the pain of the world. While he knows that death is Niros' domain, Lothos focuses on ensuring that those who die do so as painfully as possible. Antithesis to Quara, Lothos is warded against at times of harvest, and cursed by those who see loved ones succumb to lengthy disease and infection. Lothosian priests can be formidable foes, and specialize in poisons that drain an individual of their strength and agility. When confronted by death, clerics of Lothos will typically ingest or wound themselves with their own strongest poisons, "embracing" their lord in their final moments. When Lothos is said to walk the world of Aurorea, he is often seen as an old man or woman garbed as an assassin, or covered in boils and pustules. Iraie- Holy Symbol: An empty tear Domains: Chaos, Destruction, Evil, Knowledge, Liberation, Plant, and Travel Favored Weapon: Kama Aliases: Lady Desperation, Queen Foolkiller, Mirak's Bane, The Silent One, Ilsadde Description: Iraie is the goddess of desperation and warrant-less risk, tempting those in dire straits down foolish paths that will not only ruin their own life, but the lives of others. Iraie's weapons are devious and simple: a cry of regret; a harsh word ill timed. With the slightest push, a cadre of warriors may find themselves routed rather than victorious, fearless young lovers may break their bonds, and wily thieves may surrender to, rather than escape from, the authorities. Iraie's presence is insidious, winding it's way around a desperate soul until they break, never realizing the voice in their ears is not their own. Natural ally to Seeranus, god of spiritual persecution, and enemy to Mirak, the god that triumphs over lost causes and hopeless situations, Iraie watches those whose options run low and push them down the wrong path. Said to have been a monk who preached divisive temple politics in life, Iraie often appears as a monk when walking the world of men. Boraz- Holy Symbol: A sightless eye Domains: Chaos, Darkness, Destruction, Evil, Madness, Magic, and Trickery Favored Weapon: Kukri Aliases: The Deciever, The Prince of Lies, Wesran, Lord Ignorance, Penithyan Description: Boraz is the god of deception and ignorance and, as such, is one of the most insidious gods of darkness in existence. Clouding truth and preventing the spread of knowledge, Boraz' greatest weapon is misinformation, a tool that turns righteous men into tyrants and foolish men into pawns. The priesthood of Boraz enjoy spreading rumor and slander, stirring trouble until the breaking point. Many of the most deadly and dangerous riots and rebellions in history have the mark of Boraz all over them. Boraz was a treacherous advisor in life whose action created discord and destrcution both within his home kingdom and without. In those stories that tell of Boraz walking among mortals, he often appears as a well to do merchant or courtier who appears trustworthy, but spreads deception and destructions through slander and misinformation. After Boraz's chosen pawn follows this courtier's information destroying all they love as a result, Boraz reveals himself to his unwitting pawn at the end of the story to gloat over how easily they were duped. Deros- Holy Symbol: A simple skull relief Domains: Air, Chaos, Darkness, Death, Earth, Luck, Strength, and Weather Favored Weapon: Khopesh Aliases: The Cheating God, The Jackal, He of the Hidden Hands, Slymere, Kodelon Description: Deros, second of the Low Lord's children, has always been known as the god of cheats and cut-purses, but he has a far more sinister mien realized only by those who worship his power. Deros embraces acts that break rule of law, thriving in realms where chaos and corruption reign. Priests of Deros often cause chaos simply for the joy of it, and cheat whenever possible, proclaiming their commitment to chance while stacking the odds in their favor. Perhaps the most dangerous and insane aspect of this dark god is his intent to cheat Niros, god of death. Deros has been known to try and steal souls for his own power rather than releasing them to the stream. Rarely taking the form of a mortal, Deros tends to appear in the world as a chaotic force of nature, leaving many who witness tornadoes and hurricanes believing they saw "Deros walking".
